Annual General Assembly 2025

This year, our annual general meeting was held on the shores of Lake Lucerne in the beautiful Swiss village of Vitznau. It was hosted by one of the SNR partners, the Lake Lucerne Institute, in the impressive Kultur Kulinarik Vitznau building. The fantastic organization and attendance of over 50 SNRs members, set the foundation for a great meeting.

The meeting was kicked off by a warm welcome from the meeting’s host and SP5 lead, Chris Awai, followed by an introduction by the SNR project lead, Andrea Serino. The morning consisted of presentations and updates from each of the five subprojects, highlighting the progress made over the last year. Some successes include the recruitment of the first 100 patients into the observational study, ethics approvals for most implementation pilots, the development of data collection platforms, the positive responses from stakeholders operating in healthcare (federal agencies, cantonal agencies, health insurers, etc.), and the launch of new and exciting educational programs.

After an excellent lunch, we jumped straight into the afternoons workshops which were designed to promote team building, brainstorming, and idea sharing amongst the consortium. We had two workshops: one delved into the now where we focused on what to prioritize and how to improve the workflow of the project, and the other focused on exploring the future and the SwissNeuroRehab legacy after the end of the project. The workshops were stimulating and useful, with participants building actionable roadmaps about how we can ultimately ensure improvements of the Swiss neurorehabilitation landscape.

An apero rounded off the meeting, giving everyone the chance to enjoy poster presentations, device demonstrations, and plenty of lively conversation. To top it all off, there were even SNR-branded beers, adding a little extra sparkle to an already superb event!

Overall, the general assembly was a thoroughly enjoyable event, that gave us the opportunity to take a deep dive into the project’s evolution over the past year, to celebrate our achievements so far, and to exchange ideas about current challenges and future visions. Andrea compared the SNR project to a marathon: we are now around the 30 km mark, where considerable progress has been made but where we are needing the strongest push on to the finish line, the Rehab Week in June 2027.
